This position is responsible for the day to day design, development and production support of the web-based services that support business-critical consumer application. The right individual for this role must be capable of building robust applications in Java, using modern architectures like Spring, AWS Serverless computation framework committed to becoming an integral part of, and fostering growth within our development team. The candidate should be comfortable with application coding based on design and specifications. This position is also responsible for ensuring that uniform application design standards are maintained, meet SLAs and collaborates with other internal IT teams to ensure aligned with business requirements.
What You’ll Be Working On-
- Working with the architects and development lead, documents and develops best practices for development, and deployment of applications, and works with members to foster growth within the team
- Predicts application development requirements based on changes in underlying architecture, effectively leverages appropriate design trade-offs and cost/benefit analysis during the design/development process
- Either individually or leading a team of resources, determines hardware/software systems requirements and leads systems hardware/software design. Analyses, designs, programs, debugs, supports, and modifies software enhancements and/or new products
- Works closely with project management, product ownership and QA to ensure that test coverage for upcoming releases is in place
- Conduct unit, system and integration testing activities
- Ensure the application is robust, optimally performance capable by periodically performing stress/load tests based on varying inputs
- Maintain/update application documentation using JIRA, Confluence
- Make process improvement recommendations
- Create and execute web service tests for back end RESTful web services
- Conducts POC for strategic and up-coming technologies
What You’ll Need-
- Bachelor’s degree with a computer science focus or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of progressive related experience within an IT department
- High-level skills in Core Java, using the latest SDKs and tools and frameworks such as Spring
- Knowledge of .NET development is plus
- Experience with developing J2EE framework, GoF Design Patterns, Enterprise Integration Patterns
- Designing n-Tier OO system architectures using OOD and UML
- Experience with fault tolerance framework Hystrix
- Ideally some experience with AWS serverless computation Lambda, API Gateway, DynmoDB, Kinesis
- Experience with JMeter or similar automation tools
- Experience in SQL and relational databases.
- Knowledge of PCI, PII, OAuth 2.0
- Strong working knowledge of JIRA, Confluence and related technologies.
- Demonstrational knowledge testing iOS and Android native applications.
- Experience testing REST web services
- Familiar with Node.js and other .js framework
- Background in interfacing with back-end applications using RESTful services, and JSON
