Site Reliability Engineer Manager

A SRE Manager is ultimately responsible for system reliability, developer productivity and reducing time to market by striving to reduce technical debt of the services your SRE team supports. H Lab is seeking managers who are passionate about system reliability to influence and drive the strategic SRE mission.

Job Description

• Manage agile projects and SRE team
• Drive quarterly OKRs
• Drive efforts around, and ensure efficiency around product non-production and production environments automation
• Ensuring incident response both in term of speed and quality.
• Improve observability design of the system
• Improve reliability design of the system
• Participate in either the Release Manager Rotation OR the Incident Management on-call rotation to help ensure that the availability goals for Cortex are met
• Hold regular 1:1's with team members
• Conduct managerial interviews for candidates

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in a Cloud Engineer role or related position
• Experience working with Linux/UNIX, Docker and Microsoft Azure
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science/engineering or information technology or equivalent experience
• 3+ years experience in developing software using languages Python, Go or Java.
• Experience managing scrum project or agile project management
• Experience working with Linux/UNIX, Docker and Microsoft Azure
• Experience with Micro-Service applications and cloud-based services, preferably MS Azure.
• Knowledge of web services, API, WebSocket, REST and RPC.
• Strong awareness of networking and internet protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, SMTP, HTTP and distributed networks.
• Database experience, including knowledge of SQL and NoSQL, and related data stores such as SQL Server.
