Software QA Engineer

As a Software QA Engineer at AltoTech Global, you will be instrumental in developing and validating our cutting-edge Alto CERO features aimed at achieving full automation of building systems.

Working closely with our development team, your role will involve driving the validation of both new and existing features, reporting and investigating detected issues, and ultimately enhancing the user experience with Alto CERO in buildings and hotels.

A successful candidate will possess excellent coding and software validation skills, a keen eye for detail, a self-driven attitude, and a passion for delivering the highest quality software possible.

Your Key Responsibilities as a Software QA Engineer

• Assisting AltoTech's transition of AltoTech's Autopilot to full automation by developing and validating features.
• Performing functional, stress, and performance tests on multiple system levels, including software simulation, hardware-in-the-loop automation, and in-building testing.
• Leveraging our extensive telemetry pipeline to monitor Alto CERO performance in buildings.
• Developing tools and automation to improve the efficiency of the validation team.
• Identifying effective test strategies for new and existing features and creating test plans accordingly.
• Analyzing issues detected during your tests or reported by others, working closely with firmware developers to fix these issues, and validating software changes.
• Reviewing system requirements for testability and ensuring that software meets both federal and internal requirements.

What You'll Bring as a Software QA Engineer

• A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Physics, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical software engineering experience or proof of exceptional skills in related fields.
• At least 1+ years of experience developing/testing building systems, energy dynamics, embedded or system-level software, or consumer electronics hardware/software.
• Strong coding skills in Python.
• Experience in troubleshooting both at the software and hardware level.
• Demonstrable experience in solving complex QA problems, including scalability, reliability, reporting, parallelization, and exceptional attention to detail.
• A passion for AltoTech's mission.
